Enjoy the cooler weather this week, as another heatwave is on its way to Central Illinois. The Climate Prediction Center forecasts above-average temperatures for the area over the next 2 weeks.

Hot Weather Returns
Hot and dry conditions will return to the area starting Sunday, August 20, 2023. The NWS has an Excessive Heat Warning in effect from Sunday into Wednesday.

Dry conditions continue
Dry conditions will continue into June with a few chances of isolated thunderstorms. At the time of writing, Pana was not in drought conditions, but a few miles north and east are considered abnormally dry. Given the current weather pattern and looking ahead, it does look like our dry stretch will continue.
