Satellite Capture Solar Eclipse

While a thick layer of clouds blanketed much of the Midwest, including Illinois, the eclipse persisted over the United States. There were a few brief breaks in the cloud cover that provided limited viewing opportunities for the eclipse in Illinois. However, the optimal viewing location was in the Southern United States.

Satellite was able to capture the shadow of the moon as it moved across the Southern United States during the Eclipse. Check out the video of the eclipse shadow as it moved over the Southern United States!

If you missed the Eclipse today don’t worry as a total solar eclipse will be visible on April 8th with totality moving across Southern IL!
