Bouts of Snow Possible
A few rounds of snow will be possible Wednesday into Thursday as an upper-level wave moves through the area. I am not currently anticipating a significant snowfall from this, but some locations could pick up a couple of inches of snow.

3.1 magnitude Earthquake near Mt. Vernon
A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Mount Vernon, IL area during the evening hours of Sunday, December 17, 2023. The earthquake, which registered 3.1 on the Richter scale, shook communities around the Mount Vernon area around 10:10 PM CDT. Residents in Mount Vernon and surrounding communities reported minor shaking.

Illinois is expected to experience a bout of intense rainfall from this evening through Friday morning. The current forecast indicates precipitation ranging between 1 to 1.5 inches by Friday evening.
