Eclipse 2024

The much anticipated solar eclipse on April 8th is inching closer.

What can you expect? If you find yourself within the path of totality, prepare for a total solar eclipse lasting anywhere from just under 1 minute to over 3.5 minutes. For those outside this path, your experience will vary depending on your location and distance from the path of totality.

Follow this link and input your zip code to see when the eclipse will start and end for your location!

Forecast currently show temperatures in the low 70’s in Southern IL with mostly sunny skies! So weather conditions look great for eclipse viewing!

If you are viewing the eclipse, be sure to wear your eclipse glasses while observing, and only take them off if you are in the path of totality and only during the few minutes of totality!

Final words: Totality is not the same as 99.9%. If you can, I recommend going to the path of totality, as the difference in the eclipse is night and day.
