Bouts of Snow Possible

A few rounds of snow will be possible Wednesday into Thursday as an upper-level wave moves through the area. I am not currently anticipating a significant snowfall from this, but some locations could pick up a couple of inches of snow.

These systems are hard to forecast due to the wobble in the track and how that affects the placement of snow. At this time (Tuesday) the forecast is for a rain/snow mix to move though the area Wednesday through Thursday. Best bet for accumulating snow looks to be west of I-55 in Western IL, but areas further East could get some accumulation as well.

My main concern with any snow accumulating is the warm ground temps, air temperatures, and placement of the snowfall.

I will continue to monitor and update with changes to the forecast.
